At first we start with frequently asked questions about the upcoming FS25.
Release date and versions
When will FS25 be released?
FS25 will be released on November 12th, 2024 will be released.
For which devices will the FS25 be released?
FS25 will be released for PC, Mac, PS5 and XBox X|S.
Will FS25 also be released for PS4 and XBox one?
No. FS25 will not be released for the old PS4 and XBox one consoles.
Is there a season pass for FS25?
Yes. The season pass for the first year of FS25 has already been announced and can already be pre-ordered.
How much does FS25 cost?
- The US PC version of the base game costs $49.99.
- The US bundle (package) with the base game and the 1st season pass costs $79.99.
Is there a pre-order bonus?
Yes, there is the Mac Don Pack as a pre-order bonus. It contains vehicles and machines for the swath mowing harvesting method.
Some ordering platforms, e.g. Collectors Edition, also have a golden New Holland CR11 combine harvester.
Maps in FS25
How many maps are there in FS25?
The base game has three official maps, built by the game developer Giants.
- US map Riverbend Springs
- Asian map
- European map Zielonka (also in FS22 as a Premium Edition)
After the release, there will definitely be a lot of mod maps again.
As part of the 1st Season Pass, there will be a map in autumn 2025 that shows an area in Great Britain (UK map).
Which area of America is shown on the Riverbend Springs map?
Riverbend Springs is located in the rice-growing area around Mississippi and Arkansas.
It does not depict a real place, but the typical characteristics of a larger area are used as inspiration for map construction.
When will the Asian map be shown?
The Asian map will be presented during the Tokyo Game Show at the end of September.
What will the European map be like?
The European map will be a new adaptation of the Zielonka map, which we already had in FS22 as a premium expansion.
Will there be 4x maps on consoles in FS25?
It is still open whether that will work. The Giants Modhub will try to see whether individual 4x maps are suitable for the consoles.
Although only the current consoles PS5 and XBox X|S will get FS25, FS25 will also be more power-hungry than the FS22. For example, the terrain will have twice the resolution. This will improve the shape of the terrain. But that also affects performance. How this will affect it in practice remains to be seen.
Will there be 4x maps from Giants?
No, there will not be 4x maps from Giants.
The reason is that 4x maps are 4 times as much work as standard-sized maps. The Giants staff prefer to make more and more detailed maps in normal size rather than fewer maps in 4x format.
Fruit types
What new fruit types are there in FS25?
In addition to the fruit types that already exist in FS22, there will probably be 5 additional fruit types.
We already know 3 of these 5 fruit types by mid-August 2024. The other two are still unknown.
These are the new crops in FS25:
- Rice
- Long grain rice
- Spinach
- Probably: Peas
- Probably: Green beans
What is the difference between rice and long grain rice?
"Rice" is grown using the typical Asian method with flooded fields. This requires special planting equipment and small special combine harvesters.
"Long grain rice" is grown as dry rice, as is common in the USA, for example. It is sown normally. Later, the field is temporarily flooded. At harvest time, the field is drained and then harvested with a normal combine harvester.
How is spinach grown?
Spinach can be harvested twice a year. It grows back on its own after the summer harvest.
The spinach is sown with a normal seed drill.
You need a special harvesting vehicle for the harvest.
Will there be peas and green beans in FS25?
Both peas and green beans have already been seen by players at GamesCom and Pax West.
As of September 1st, 2024, however, they have not yet been seen by Giants confirmed.
GPS
Will there be GPS in FS25?
Yes. There will be GPS in the base game in FS25.
What can you do with the GPS in FS25?
You can use the GPS either when you drive yourself or for the helper.
When you drive to a field and switch on GPS, a course is automatically calculated that takes the width and length of the vehicle combination into account. The GPS function then takes over the steering, while you still have to accelerate and brake yourself.
The helper uses the GPS function to cultivate the field independently. Unlike in FS22, the helper can do all the work within the field because he uses a headland, so that surrounding obstacles no longer get in the way.
Will there be headlands on the GPS courses?
Yes, the GPS function calculates the number of headland courses based on the length of the team.
The headland is then driven in a circle. The vehicle then works by driving back and forth across the field.
Can the GPS courses be saved?
No. The GPS courses are recalculated for each work process in the field and cannot be saved.
Can GPS also be used to press bales or collect swaths?
No. Unfortunately, GPS cannot be used to press bales or collect swaths with the loader wagon.
Is the GPS function difficult to use?
The GPS function is very easy to use.
Ground deformation
Will there be dynamic ground in FS25?
There will be ground deformation in FS25. This is the Giants version of the much-desired dynamic ground.
Does ground deformation cause you to get stuck in the mud?
No, ground deformation does not cause you to get stuck in the mud.
But ground deformation does slow down tractors.
How does deformed ground affect driving behavior?
Vehicles bounce when they drive over deformed ground areas.
Vehicles also slow down in the area of ??ground deformation.
Vehicles also slow down when driving over fields compared to driving over roads.
Do swaths also deform when you drive over them?
Straw swaths deform when you drive over them with vehicles, similar to the Soil deformation.
Does only the soil on the fields deform?
The soil deforms on and outside of fields depending on the type of soil.
Plowed and harrowed soil deforms particularly strongly, unpaved field paths moderately strongly and asphalt or concrete not at all.
Is the deformation of the soil permanent?
As soon as you continue to work on the field, e.g. sowing, the soil deformation disappears.
Even if you leave the game and re-enter it, the soil deformation is gone.
Within a game session, the soil deformation disappears after a while.
Animals
Are there any new animal species in FS25?
Yes, in FS25 there are water buffalo and goats in addition to the existing animal species. Both produce milk.
Do buffalo and goats produce normal milk or special milk?
Both animal species produce special types of milk that can be used to produce special milk products.
Are there young animals in FS25?
Yes, in FS25 there are young animals, i.e. calves, piglets, lambs and foals among the previously existing animal species. The new animal species include kids and buffalo calves.
How many growth stages are there for animals?
The animals will have three growth stages: babies, adolescents and adults.
Will there be heifers among the cows?
No, the adolescent cows are younger than heifers.
What animal species are there in total in FS25?

Can the water buffaloes also be used for field work? use?
No, the buffalo cannot be used for field work, e.g. for plowing.
Will there be bees again in FS25?
Bees will be back in the game.
Are there any changes in animal husbandry?
The animals' stables have to be cleaned again.
Weather
Does the weather affect the yield in FS25?
Yes, if it rains, there will be crop losses.
If hail or tornadoes occur, there can be damage to crops, trees, bales and buildings.
What new weather events are there in FS25?
There are tornadoes and hail as new weather events. Both can damage the crops.
What damage occurs en by tornadoes and/or hail?
When hail or tornadoes occur, a field's crops can be largely destroyed. Trees can also be destroyed by tornadoes.
Bales can also be destroyed if they are not secured under cover.
Some buildings are also destroyed, but not all.
Hail does not destroy trees, but crops and bales can be destroyed.
What happens if you drive into tornadoes?

How often do tornadoes occur?

Is the fog everywhere?
No, the fog is only where you would expect fog in real life, e.g. in river valleys.
It is also not the same strength at all times of the day.
This means that even if you get the impression when watching the trailer that the whole map is always full of fog, that is not the case in practice. So fog shouldn't be a problem.
Where does the debris that flies around in the tornado come from?
The parts flying around in the tornado are purely visual effects. They don't come from anywhere and have no effect.
Forest
Can you cut down the trees that were destroyed by tornadoes?
Yes, you can cut down the destroyed trees with a chainsaw.
Miscellaneous
Will the unit of measurement be bushels in FS25?
No, there will be no bushels in FS25.
Are there any changes to the flashlight?
When you use a light while walking around, you have a flashlight in your hand.
How does sleeping work in FS25?
In FS25, you can sleep in 30-minute increments sleep.
Is it worth buying FS25?
People who have already played FS25 say: The step from FS22 to FS25 is bigger than from FS19 to FS22.
